Delete Your Account
You can delete your Polylingo account at any time, directly in the app or by email. This page explains how, and what is deleted.
What Data Will Be Deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account (anonymous ID and, if you created one, your email sign-in)
- Your language, level, interest and accent preferences, and app settings
- Your saved phrases and their review history
- Your listening progress, history and comprehension practice results
- Ratings and reviews you posted, reports you submitted and authors you hid
- Records linking your account to purchases: your story credit balance, unlocked stories and membership status
How to Delete Your Account in the App
You can delete your account directly in the Polylingo app:
- Open Polylingo and, on Home, tap the person icon
- This opens "Your listening"
- Tap "Delete account"
- Confirm when prompted. This cannot be undone.
Request Deletion by Email
If you can't access the app, you can ask us to delete your account by email. If you created an email account, send the request from that address or include it, so we can find your data.
Send your deletion request to:
contact@polylingo.appPlease put "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line. We will complete your request and confirm within 30 days.
Deletion Timeline
Deletion in the app starts immediately. Requests sent by email are completed within 30 days. Analytics and crash data expire automatically under our retention settings, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Important Notes
- Deletion is permanent. Unused story credits and stories you unlocked are deleted with your account and cannot be restored.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a membership. Cancel it separately in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings to avoid future charges.
- Apple and Google keep their own records of store purchases, and we may keep limited transaction records where the law requires it.
